A Help balloon appears each time you place your mouse pointer on a pictogram (if you’re using Internet Explorer or Netscape 4): in other words, you’re never alone on line. Remember that the Elf logo will take you back to the site’s home page..

Choosing your Cruising Speed

On your first journey through odyssey you may want to choose a sequential visit of the magazine’s five chapters and 50 screens. Use the arrow icon (1) to go forward to the next screen. Two other direct access modes are also available: the Map mode (2), and a keyword search (3).

The Map mode can be accessed from any of the screens and carries out the same function. Since it is more graphic, it is also more fun to use. All of the chapters also contain scroll lists which allow you to point to the screen of your choice.

	Using the Search Engine Using the keyword search function will bring up a list of pages relevant to your search. A simple mouse click will take you to the page of your choice. The search engine used is designed by Excite Inc.
	Using the Glossary Should you come across an unfamiliar term, just click on the Glossary button.
	Testing your Knowledge is the Name of the Game Test your knowledge and accept odyssey’s intellectual challenges by responding to nearly 50 questions which appear randomly throughout our quiz. Your score is displayed after each answer. You may check your answers at any given time by consulting any one of the odyssey screens. If you wish to continue playing once you’ve gone back to check an answer on one of the screens, while maintaining your score, use your navigation tool’s Back button. Otherwise your score will be erased and you’ll have to start the quiz over again. Our new game quizzes will also provide you with food for thought!
	Making the most of your navigation tool We all have our little habits, and if you want to go back and visit one of odyssey’s pages, you can always use your navigator’s Back button. But be sure to bookmark odyssey’s address: we look forward to having you with us at least once a month!
	Taking full advantage of the animations In most of the proposed schemes, the animations run without any intervention on your part: these are the famous GIF animation sequences. At certain stages a clapperboard pictogram appears below the scheme. This allows you to activate a more complex Flash animation, thereby more effectively illustrating the topic being presented. The animations run automatically, but you may go back to any of the proposed stages at any given time simply by clicking on the corresponding word. Happy wandering!
