Finally, living quarters are built for the crew who will be operating and maintaining the installations. Everything possible is done to make life comfortable for them, with proper rest and recreation facilities. Life is tough on a production site, and crews often work 12-hour shifts for weeks at a stretch, often in remote or hostile (sometimes both at once) regions. At regular intervals, the crew is relieved by colleagues who have rested for an equivalent length of time.
Now everything is ready, the flare stack can be lit.
